Position
Katja Neumüller advises German and European companies, including start-ups, on their global expansion. She is specialized in advising her clients on national and international M&A transactions covering cross-border acquisitions and company sales, the establishment and disengagement of joint ventures, as well as corporate restructurings for an efficient corporate and capital structure within the group. Her expertise spans to the structuring and coordination of projects, due diligence processes, preparation of contracts and contract negotiations. A main focus is on cross-border transactions in the Asia-Pacific region, especially China and India. In addition, Katja Neumüller advises foreign investors on corporate law matters when entering the German market either by way of an acquisition or an incorporation. In the past, she has also advised foreign investors on IPOs in Germany.
Karriere
In addition to qualifying for university, Katja Neumüller graduated in Michigan (USA). She studied law in Göttingen and Madrid (Spain). During her legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Düsseldorf, she worked for the Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Düsseldorf and at Luther’s offices in Düsseldorf and Singapore. Katja Neumüller was admitted to the German bar in 2011 and joined Luther's Corporate / M&A team in Cologne. In the first half of 2014, she worked at Luther's office in Shanghai (China). Katja Neumüller regularly holds workshops for start-ups looking to become engaged in Asia and for foreign investors planning to enter the German market. Since mid of 2015, Katja Neumüller has been the spokesperson for the young leaders of the German Asia-Pacific Business Association (OAV) for the region of North Rhine-Westphalia, a program for young executives engaged in the German-Asian economy. The program provides a platform to the high potentials of the OAV member companies, where they can develop and deepen their Asian expertise and enhance their leadership skills. Beginning of the year 2022, Katja Neumüller was as well elected as the global speaker of the OAV young leaders. In this function she develops and advises on the strategy of the young leaders’ program and represents the interests of the young leaders in Germany and in the Asia-Pacific region.
