Position
David is a Partner, specialised in energy and related utilities’ law.
Areas of practice include: - strategic advice and assistance in the liberalisation of the energy markets - drafting legal and regulatory frameworks relating to the liberalisation of the electricity and gas markets - drafting regulated and negotiated contracts in LNG, natural gas and electricity markets (construction, transit, supply, trading) and transport market (railway, air, road), including competition issues - assistance to the development of renewable energy projects (wind, solar, biomass, hydro) - advising on developments of water and waste legislations - related commercial/administrative litigation and arbitration.

Karriere
David is an energy and infrastructure lawyer with over 20 years' experience advising international and domestic clients on oil and gas, water, power, nuclear and renewable projects.
David has significant experience in providing strategic advice and assistance in the liberalisation of the energy markets, including drafting legal and regulatory frameworks in the electricity and gas markets and drafting regulated and negotiated contracts in LNG, natural gas and electricity markets (project development, transit, supply, and trading).
He has developed an extensive practice in advising and assisting clients in the Belgian and European electricity and gas sectors and acted in various EU member states on a wide range of commercial and regulatory matters including, energy contracts, construction and permitting issues, greenhouse gas emissions related mechanisms, financing and public procurement.
Finally, he has extensive experience in proceedings before commercial courts, the Belgian Council of State, the Constitutional Court, the European Court of Justice and various arbitration courts. His recent work includes acting as arbitrator (ICAC, CEPINA) in commercial disputes. He is also a visiting lecturer at the Centre for Energy Law at the University of Aberdeen.
