Position

Daniel Marhewka is a Partner in Fieldfisher´s Munich office and Co-Head of Fieldfisher´s Energy and Natural Resources Group, focusing on Corporate and Energy Law.

His particular expertise lies in advising on transactions in the Energy and Infrastructure sectors. He also regularly advises on M&A, private equity, venture capital and Real Estate transactions. These are mostly international, cross-border projects. He provides comprehensive support in corporate and energy law issues. His focus is on renewable energy, where he has advised on over 5,000 MW of solar, wind and other renewable energy projects in Europe and internationally.

In addition, he has the exciting task of being jointly responsible for our advisory services in the Energy sector and setting priorities there.

His clients include domestic and foreign investors, financial institutions and (family) businesses. As different as the clients are, as varied and diverse is the work he does for them.

His work ranges from advising a joint venture for floating offshore wind projects, to the financing and acquisition of Europe's largest solar park with a capacity of 650 MW, to the mezzanine financing of various renewable energy portfolios in Germany, France and Poland.

Karriere

Before joining Fieldfisher, he worked for seven years as a lawyer in an international law firm in the Corporate/Energy sector and for three years in a US law firm in the Munich and New York office in the Corporate/M&A sector.

He studied law in Heidelberg and London and completed a legal traineeship in Munich and New York.

He regularly publishes articles on Corporate and Energy Law issues.

In addition, he is the author of the Heidelberg Model Contracts for oHGs and has dealt with the law of geothermal energy in the book "Geothermie-Vorhaben: Tiefe Geothermie".

He regularly speaks at conferences on renewable energy topics and serves on the advisory board of a family-owned company.

In 2014, he was awarded the "Deal Maker of the Year" award by FinanceMonthly. In 2015, he was awarded the "Client Choice" award for Energy & Natural Resources Germany.
