Composed of lawyers at the firm’s Mexico City, Querétaro, and Monterrey offices, Sánchez Devanny’s banking and finance practice group assists banks, borrowers and investors alike, with cross border loans, securities matters, asset based and real estate financing, and structured financing. An experienced trio shares leadership of the practice, comprising Mexico City-based José Berrueta Ochoa, who handles the structuring and restructuring of credit facilities; Monterrey-based Ernesto Silvas-Medina (securities matters, M&A, projects); and Querétaro-based Diego Gómez-Haro Katznelson, who has focused his practice on real estate finance. Capital markets, M&A and banking all-rounder Carlos Matsui is the key senior associate contact following the April 2023 departure of Jaime Israel Moreno-Treviño from the Monterrey office. Since publication, the firm’s merger into Garrigues Mexico (announced in July 2024), has been confirmed – effective as of February 2025.
