The global risks team at DWF continues to grow with the April 2024 additions of onshore and offshore specialists Gary Walkling from RPC and Franco D’Andrea from Clyde & Co, following the September 2023 arrival of reinsurance expert Andrew Symons from DLA Piper. The team covers an array of issues, including energy, product liability, political risk, trade credit, Bermuda Form and property claims, and has been especially active in reinsurance cases, including handling reinsurance arbitrations relating to Covid-19 as well as litigation stemming from the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Practice head David Abbott specialises in advising insurers on trade credit and political risk matters, as well as onshore energy insurance. Kiran Soar handles property insurance and reinsurance, John Groome focuses on casualty and property claims, and Antony Woodhouse is the go-to for Bermuda Form issues. For marine and commodity matters, Jonathan Moss is the name to note, while Tom Mungovan excels in policy coverage disputes for insurers and Lloyd’s of London syndicates.
