Weil, Gotshal & Manges (London) LLP has a small team in London comprising only two partners, but its dominance in manager-side CLO transactions means it is a major force in the securitisation market. Head of the London structured finance and derivatives practice Jacky Kelly leads an 'experienced, approachable, practical and commercial’ team that acts for some of the world's biggest CLO managers. The practice also has a strong stable of associates, not least Luke Stowe and Emily Firmston. Kelly and Stowe recently acted for a leading manager client on the amendment of two CLOs to allow for the acquisition of loss mitigation obligations. Kelly also advised a global investment bank on a trade receivables-backed ABS issuance of just under $1bn. Brian Maher joined Paul Hastings LLP in mid-2024.
