The IP group at CBA Studio Legale e Tributario offers a variety of intellectual property protection services to a diverse client base, covering a host of contentious and non-contentious soft and hard IP matters. Practice co-head Barbara Sartori specialises in matters at the intersection of IP and IT and is experienced in advising on matters concerning e-commerce, AI, IoT, TMT, and more. Co-head Mattia Dalla Costa is dual-qualified to practice in Italy and Germany and possesses marked experience in IP-intensive transactions, such as M&A, licensing agreements, and tech transfer matters. Alessia Ferraro is also a name to note.

Highlight-Mandate

  • Assisted La Perla Global Management (UK) Limited with its registered office in London and Italian office in Bologna after it was placed in liquidation in the United Kingdom by order of the Court of London and, subsequently, by a decision of the Court of Bologna.
  • Advising Jamendo in a precautionary action brought before the Court of Rome by the Italian association LEA, which manages the copyrights of musical artists on behalf of Soundreef, claiming that this activity should only be carried out by SIAE or a collective management organisation, delegitimising Jamendo.
  • Advising Audi AG and Audi GmbH in proceedings pending before the Court of Turin brought by Basic Net SpA and Basic Italia SpA concerning the use of the AUDI and AUDI QUATTRO trade marks in the context of a sponsorship and licensing relationship with the Federazione Italiana Sport Sci (FISI).
