CMS counts various companies from the energy sector among its client base and advises them on the preparation of their state aid strategies, for instance in connection with the green economy transformation or state-funded initiatives. It also applies its state aid expertise to assist public sector clients and recently advised the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection on drafting and developing the funding program for climate protection contracts. Practice head Michael Bauer is extensively active in German and European state aid and antitrust law and focuses on energy and transport as well as on state law issues in the restructuring context.
