Etienne Gelencsér is a partner in Shearman & Sterling’s Tokyo office. He focuses on finance transactions, including acquisition, project and structured finance, and regularly represents financial institutions and corporate clients in the power and infrastructure sector in Asia, the Middle East and the Americas. He also represents sponsors and investors in private equity transactions, including fund formation, subscriptions and portfolio acquisitions. He has advised on multi-jurisdiction and Japan focused buy-out, energy and infrastructure funds for US, European and Asian investors. Etienne is qualified under English law. He is a fluent Japanese speaker.
