He is a German attorney at law (Rechtsanwalt) and is also appointed as a civil law notary (Notar). He works for well-known national and international institutional and private investors, banks, real estate developers, and public authorities.

Hinrich Thieme joined Boesebeck, Barz & Partner (a predecessor firm of Hogan Lovells) in 1986 and became a Partner in 1989.
